Craig Eastman, Business Development & Operations Director, Director of Golf
Craig Eastman is taking on the role of Business Development Director for Northwest Core Collection, and based on his background it may have been custom-designed. Craig fell in love with food and wine during his junior year study-abroad program in the second-most magical place on earth, Paris. Upon returning to the states he finished his degree in French at the University of California-Irvine, then earned his graduate degree in translation and interpretation (English and French) from the University of California-Santa Barbara.
And here is where Craig’s heart led him down the same rocky road we have all traveled. Rather than pursuing his field of study, Craig loaded all his worldly possessions into the trunk of a ’72 Buick Opal Manta (orange with black racing stripes) and drove to Napa to find a job in the wine industry. Clos du Val welcomed him into its production side, and three years later he moved into sales and marketing.
In ’85 he had his first post-lemonade stand experience with business-ownership partnering in Bock-Eastman Wines. This wine brokerage introduced new wines to the area and also represented the portfolios of Martine’s Wines and Winebow Imports. In 1990 his northward journey ended in Oregon where he continued in the distribution side with Grape Expectations and Valley Wine Company. In 1995, Craig joined Argyle Winery as VP of Sales & Marketing. He is very active in the Oregon wine community, and helped found the board for Oregon Pinot Camp. (As well as wore the heavy crown of the role as President for 2003.) Looking for another place to leave his mark, Craig left Argyle in 2006 to start his own consulting company.
In 2007, Craig has found a home at Northwest Core Collection , combining his skills in sales and marketing, knowledge of the Pacific Northwest wine industry and vast web of relationships. He balances his work-life with an equally energetic and demanding household filled with a wonderful wife, Terri, and four-year old triplets and a running soundtrack compliments of Dora the Explorer and Bob the Builder. And when he can get out of the office and house you’ll find him on the golf course, single-handedly bringing the NW Core handicap down.
