Fun Fact: |
The A to Z winemaking team collectively logs in more years of winemaking experience than any other Oregon winery. |
A to Z Wineworks has established a new price/quality benchmark by blending wines crafted from AVAs all across Oregon. The result is value wines that fully express the essence of Oregon in general and the vintage in particular. The sum is truly greater than the parts which present aristocratic wines at democratic prices!
Four Friends Blend Fine Wine Success
A to Z Wineworks is a partnership of two winemaking families. Sam Tannahill is a Burgundy-trained winemaker and was formerly winemaker at Archery Summit. Sam's wife, Cheryl Francis, also trained in Burgundy and New Zealand and was formerly winemaker for Chehalem. William Hatcher developed and managed Domaine Drouhin Oregon for fourteen years from its inception in 1987. Debra Hatcher has been involved in the Oregon wine industry for over 20 years including an early stint with Papa Pinot at The Eyrie Vineyards.

Other brands from A to Z team:
With the Francis Tannahill brand, Sam and Cheryl are committed to crafting fine wines from unique
vineyard sites managed with biodynamic and organic methods. They produce limited quantities of sweet
and dry Gewürztraminer, Roussanne, Pinot Noir and Syrah from vineyards located across Oregon
and Washington.
The Hatchers have carried the blending philosophy over to their own label as well, producing a
limited quantity Pinot Noir. Both the 2002 and the 2003 received a 90 from the Wine Spectator.
